The Oregon Pike and Lititz Pike corridors are stacked with grocery stores, restaurants, medical offices, and everything else daily life requires. Neffsville, up in the northern part of the township, has more of a village feel with local shops and restaurants.

Single-family homes typically land in the low-to-mid $400s, and the nicer streets and newer builds go higher. Get the actual tax figure on any house you're considering. Two similar homes a few miles apart can have very different tax bills.
• Corridor traffic is real. The shopping that makes the township convenient also clogs the main roads. Rush hour on the pikes and weekend mall traffic will test your patience.
• No downtown of your own. If you want to walk to dinner or a show, you're driving into Lancaster City. Manheim Township is a great place to live; it's just not a place with a Main Street.
• It can feel generic in spots. Parts of the township are cul-de-sacs and shopping plazas — comfortable, but not charming. The character streets exist, but they cost more.
